August 09:Flock to the wall!As part of my show at The Old Sweet Shop Gallery this September, the founder, Joe Madeira, kindly gave me his newly painted wall outside the gallery to create a piece of work. The piece is entitled 'Fling' which is the collective noun for a flock of sandpipers. The imagery has been applied using card stencils and Montana Flash Yellow spray paint. There are 16 different bird shapes repeated along the wall to help create a natural image. The effect is the result of studies into flock formations and the many individual wing sequences in flight. My ©'Stencil Scene' has created a lot of interest and joy with the local community that lives near the gallery which makes it even more worthwhile.
